Sikander Raza, Zimbabwe’s T20I captain, became the first player of the country to score 3000 or more runs in the shortest form of cricket when he reached 15 during his innings of 31 in a group match against India in the T20 World Cup at Chennai on February 26.
Overall, he is the 14th player to cross this milestone in T20 International cricket. The 13 cricketers who did it prior to him include three players from India, two each from Australia and Pakistan, and one each from England, South Africa, New Zealand, Ireland, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
Sikander achieved this feat in 132 matches and 127 innings and now he has scored 3089 runs in 133 T20Is at an average of 26.62 with one hundred and 17 fifties.
